Swiss Island® 4.0 matures further - in cooperation with the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts
We are in the final preparations for applying for research funding from Innsuisse. In a 15-month research project, new and existing debriefing methods are to be investigated for the optimization of Swiss Island®. After extensive preliminary research, we are now ready to submit the application shortly. The decision on our application is expected to be made in September.
A preliminary study on this, financed by Innosuisse, has already been successfully carried out. The results have already been incorporated into the current presence and online version of Swiss Island®.
The online version of Swiss Island® was completely renewed
Swiss Island® has been completely revised and is now carried out on a specially developed web platform. This was specifically adapted to the requirements of online execution (for example, collaboration and authorizations). In addition, multimedia content (videos, animations) was developed and integrated.
Swiss Island® has been supplemented with additional event cards in all versions
More than 50 new event cards from all project management areas have been added. Their content is based on the results of the cooperation with HSLU and the experience gained during implementation. This means that even more customer-specific setups can now be made possible.
The implementation of hybrid projects in Swiss Island® has become even more realistic
For this purpose, we have revised and merged the version for multi-project management and the version for agile projects.
PMP® Certification Preparation with and without Swiss Island®
Already in the last Newsletter we drew attention to our novel on certification preparation. This is now also available for PMBOK® Version 7 (in German from the end of August and in English probably from October). 'The crazy PMPprep' is about a music therapist in a psychiatric hospital who has to organize a concert. It's about people and their fates. Successes, failures, unrequited love, chance life-changing encounters, even death. And yet, or perhaps because of this, the story is entertaining and also funny. The visitations of our fellow human beings and their imperfections are our source of hilarity, as we can well imagine how it feels to be in their place.
What our book mainly does, beyond relevant details, is to convey the principles, beliefs and guiding ideas of PMBoK®. These help in particular with all the exam questions about behavior in a particular situation and with the questions about which one is not quite sure, because it is precisely these that test not knowledge but application of knowledge. But that alone is not enough. Therefore, our book is not just a book, but a book combined with a website that provides uncounted numbers of exam-like questions, an incredible number of exercises, umpteen animations, lots of podcasts, an exam simulation and much more, because after all, the exam itself should not be a big surprise. There's plenty of that in the story itself.
